And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:6

One of the truths that I have been holding tightly to the past several months is that God is not weak or frustrated in his efforts to accomplish his plans for his children!

He is at work and nothing will stop him from accomplishing that work. Not only will nothing stop him, but he will use everything in our life, good and bad, to see that his plan for us to be conformed into the image of Christ is completed.

It is an effectual work.

There are so many details around this first linocut that connect to this idea. I’ve already shared many of those in a recent article, so I won’t go there again. I’ll just say that as I worked on cutting away the parts of linoleum that needed to be removed to create the image, it was a reminder that God was removing parts of me to make the image of Christ more visible in my life.

Working on this linocut brought fresh reminders that I am his workmanship. I am the clay, he is the potter. He is at work.

I’m thrilled about taking this first step into a new art medium! It is incredibly rewarding to be back creating something with my hands, rather than relying heavily on a digital process. To finish my work and have a handmade physical print is a breath of fresh air for me creatively.

With creating handmade prints, I opened an Etsy shop! Here you can purchase one of these prints to remind you that God’s plans are at work in your life! I printed a run of 10 but 3 are already spoken for. So I only have 7 in the shop right now.

A purchase of one of these prints goes directly towards helping me create more art and helps me use what I create to point people to Christ!

Below you can see some images I took to document the process of creating this piece. I hope you enjoy it and thank you so much for checking it out!
