...it is the Lord your God who goes with you...

Deuteronomy 31:6

The ideas of endurance, perseverance and faith have been continually popping up lately in my devotions, sermons at church, and when listening to music.

These ideas were part of the motivation for creating my first linocut, Effectual, and continue to push on me in creating this second one, Held.

In all that is currently taking place in my life, and all that has taken place, I can say with absolute assurance that the strength to maintain my faith, to endure and persevere, is purely from the grace of God towards me.

When the tides of uncertainties and trails rise and threaten to wash my faith away and send it to a dark watery grave, there is an anchor within me to hold me fast!

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6

It is by the work of Christ in me that any strength and courage can be found. It is within the reality that he goes with me and will never forsake me that I find peace. It is in his holding that I find my rest.
